Terms of use

Your account and records

You are responsible for using an account you are authorized to access and for reviewing extracted or imported information before confirming it. Folio is a workflow aid, not the journal's official record; verify deadlines and decisions against the publisher or submission portal.

You may link another sign-in method only after initiating it from your signed-in account and authenticating with that method. A matching name or email does not automatically combine accounts. Do not share access to another researcher's account.

Permitted use

Use Folio only for lawful research administration involving material you are entitled to store and process. Do not upload malware, attempt to access another account, interfere with the service, or use Folio to bypass publisher access controls, CAPTCHA, MFA, rate limits, paywalls, or terms.

Confidential and third-party material

You remain responsible for confidentiality duties attached to manuscripts, peer review, institutional records, and journal correspondence. Third-party services and publisher portals have their own terms. A Folio integration does not grant additional rights to their content or systems.

Automated extraction

Parsers and matching tools can be wrong. Proposed titles, authors, venues, dates, decisions, and work matches require review when uncertain or consequential. Corrections preserve the original evidence and history rather than silently rewriting it.

Availability and changes

Development versions may change, be unavailable, or contain defects. We will present material changes for review and record acceptance of a new version when required. Production commitments covering availability, support, payment, cancellation, liability, governing law, and dispute resolution still require review before public launch.
